Will Your Love Be Unrequited?

My Lord, my God, it was out of love that you created the universe and all that it holds with a plan to create man to share the greatness of your love with. It was out of your love over the centuries that you have challenged and corrected men to walk in love instead of hate and anger. It was out of love that you gave the word of your law to Moses for men to obey because it would allow men to live in peace and prosper together without the danger of falling into acts that would destroy love or violate the love of their God. You have commanded that men display their love for one another in dealing fairly and justly with one another in a manner that yields fertile soil in the hearts of men so that love can grow.

My heart breaks for the shame of all men, that you were compelled by their lack to command that all men should love the Lord their God with all their heart and all their soul and all their strength. You should never have been allowed the motivation to even ask, for there is none more worthy. All that you have done for men was done out of the love of your heart and by itself, it demands love in return without request. There is no justice to you my Lord in your love unrequited. My Father, where is the outer boundry of your love for the hearts of ungrateful men that you have created? For even the sacrifice of your very own blamess son leaves some still unrepentant, but yet your patience still exists. You wait with a hopeful longing heart for those wandering in the darkness to respond to your hearts cry, in hopes that they may yet discover that they are the treasure of your heart.

Teach me my Lord what it means to love the Lord My God with all my heart and all my soul and all my strength that I may fully respond to your love in the way your heart desires. I can never do full justice to your love my Lord for I am only a man, but my longing is to give all that I can to the heart that loves my own. Does it mean that I should love you enough to love all that your heart cries out for? Does it mean that I should care and have great concern for that which breaks your heart? Does it mean that I find great joy in that which brings joy to your heart? Does it mean that I would have the depth of sincereity to suffer my Lord for that which you treasure? That I would labor to bring to your heart the things that give you pleasure. As a man, does it not mean that I would stand to protect that which you hold sacred without reservation? Is there any shame among men to great to bear for the love of my Lord or any measure of worship to great or even worthy to be deserved by you my God?

When I say that I love you, what is to be the depth of my sincerity and my passion Lord? Is it only as deep as the sound of the words that pass my lips? Or is it something that moves my heart deeply to walk beyond my worldly comfort to yield in all things to your desire? In response to the sacrifice of your own son out of love for me, what sacrifice could you ask of me that would be more worthy in return? If I should, as spoken by your son, in the greatest depths of love, be willing to lay down my life for another, then my Lord what should my heart be willing to do for you?

The Real Power To Affect Change

I know that my position here may not be popular on it's face at first, but I think it could be most revealing of where some hearts are - even my own, by the response that it evokes... I think it's possible that we're all partly responsible for the chaos and darkness that is constantly swirling around in the digital tornado that is the constantly hammering news these days. While we may not have contributed to it directly by our own actions, it's a good bet that we may have contributed to it by our own inaction. Where does the true power to change things come from? And who is our best example to follow in this life? Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed." Mark 1:35 (NKJ) "Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God." Luke 6:12 (NKJ) "Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought ...

An Observance And Observing True Reality...

As Easter approaches, I begin once again considering how our God sees our observance of an occasion as I always do and also what He might truly desire of us in observance above any of our trivial, man inspired traditions . What I come away with in firm conviction is the understanding that the most trivial of my sins, the least of my crimes against God, had the power to forever damn me in His judgment of me and send me into unending torment. And that knowing this one thing in truth and as reality, is key to my correct posture before God in honor of His purpose in the event. That key being the horror of knowing that the price of my very least sin was the shedding of my Christ Jesus' blood and His horrible suffering, because the reality of this brings the deep rending of my heart in awe and gratitude and it makes possible my true joy at the relief of my sentence because of what He has done. I believe this is a part of what God would desire from us in observance of Christ's death a...

Judging, Judgment And Judge...

"I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. I will not judge those who hear me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken. I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it. And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say.” John 12:46-50 (NLT) A lot is said these days about "judging", but in the midst of that popular societal buzz and the assertive comments that come with that conversation, I have a question: If God has called something sin and we simply agree with what He's said,... are we judging or just repeating and declaring the truth? When He walked the earth, Jesus spoke about judging and He pointed out the danger of our judging...  “Do not judge other...
