Lord Let Me Sing...

The love song of my God is endless and sweet. It's music is wrapped in love and carried by the purest spirit to stir the hearts that hear it. The words of it tell a tale of a universe created for one purpose, as a gift for the cherished ones, the beloved of the singer to enjoy and to flourish in. A world made and given to the love of the singers heart to share and to walk together hand in hand. A gift of mystery and wonder, one filled with beauty and inspiration beyond the ability of any other to create. You hung the stars like jewels in sky above for the love of your heart to gaze upon in wonder as they sparkle in the night. And along with them you placed the moon as a soft glowing night light for your beloved to enjoy in the evening. Every morning you faithfully command the sun to rise and shine upon the love of your heart, to give warmth and light to live. You cause the earth to bear fruit to feed the ones you desire and tend the gardens of the earth to the benefit of those you cherish. You hold all of creation in perfect balance that the desire of Your heart might live. No lover has ever given more for His love, no man could even conceive of such things had they not been given.

But beyond these great gifts to the object of your desire, the song tells another tale, one of sacrifice greater than any other. A sacrifice not the ultimate, most sacred of a mere man, but of a God, not only willing, but who did die to spare His love from death eternal. A death you suffered by your choice to give life everlasting to the ones you desire because of your great love for them. A sacrifice by a God who suffered humiliation from the very ones He loves and was tortured by them to suffer great agony. At any moment yours choice could have been different. At any moment you could have destroyed the source of your torment. But you counted your love for us greater than the pain you suffered at their hands... and you suffer still. You suffer the pain of rejection even now from those who refuse to answer your love from the depths of their hearts, even as you sing your song of love to them from the depths of your own. You suffer the pain of love unrequited from those who in the face of all that you offer, return only what is comfortable and convenient in shallow response. You have given us life, given the world, and even your own life, to woo us, the object of your desire. What can we do in response that would be too much to suffer for the greatest lover of our life?

There is no joy for the heart void of your love, and no peace for the soul without your spirit within. You created us to share your love and nothing can take its place to satisfy the need we were created with. You made all that is to woo the hearts of men to your own. You gave life to us that we might choose to share it with you as your heart desires. Your song of love is deep and continually calling to the ones you gave life to. Oh Lord, greater than can be measured is your love for the men you created.

Lord make me unwavering in my answer to the purpose for my creation. Let my love for you be a song that I sing loud with all of my heart and all that I am without shame or fear of reproach. Make me an example my Lord to sing true to your heart with all that I am the love song your ears long to hear. I am only a man my Lord, so I pray that you would teach me your ways and give my mind over to think like you do. To see what you see, to cry out for what breaks your heart. To move as you lead and to show the compassion of your heart for all that you love. Help me to stand firm for the values of my Lord and bring others to understand your heart for them. Mold me to be an example to others who are the love of your heart of the response your heart desires most. Help me to stand tall, not for my glory in this life, but for your glory and your pleasure everlasting. Help me to respond fully to the greatest lover of man and live by example a life that brings joy to your heart and a smile to your face. A life that makes your heart glad for the day that you created me. Teach me how to be the greatest lover of my God that I can be in response to your love song ... and sing with all that I am, the song that your heart longs to hear forever.

Where Truth Is Found...

"He that cannot forgive others, breaks the bridge over which he himself must pass if he would ever reach heaven; for everyone has need to be forgiven." - George Herbert, British Poet 1593 - 1633 The above is a true statement and one could give credit to George Herbert for his wisdom in that saying, but the truth and wisdom found in those words did not originate with him. They originated with The Author of truth and wisdom - The Judge of the universe... “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6:14-15 (NKJ) ...Christ Jesus. With deception being a tool of the enemy   and being spread  widely with the help of mankind these days, it's a struggle for some to recognize what the truth really is. It's good for us who follow Christ to remember that whatever we might think or reason with ourselves to be true, our opinion c...

Fear not.

There's a lot going on in the world and a lot available to provoke fear for the future, but I have a question for anyone who might feel themselves tempted to fear - If you truly know God, does He ever change? “I am the LORD, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed." Malachi 3:6 (NLT) We stand reinforced in our understanding and belief that He does not change, so... "The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me.  I will protect those who trust in my name.  When they call on me, I will answer;  I will be with them in trouble.  I will rescue and honor them.  I will reward them with a long life  and give them my salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16 (NLT) I know that I said that I had "a" question, but I actually have another - do you really, truly love Him? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heave...

God Blesses Those...

"And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:... " Matthew 5:1&2 (NKJ) In the 5th chapter of the book of Matthew, we find Jesus teaching His disciples. What He taught them there is often referred to as the Sermon on the mount. And within that teaching are a number statements that are commonly referred to as The Beatitudes. I humbly suggest that whoever it was that coined that term might have been more accurate and to the point if they had called them  The " BE-  Attitudes" since Jesus was in fact telling His disciples both then and now, about the spirit of how to "be". “Blessed are the poor in spirit,  For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn,  For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek,  For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,  For they shall be filled. Blessed a...
