My Lord, my God, it was out of love that you created the universe and all that it holds with a plan to create man to share the greatness of your love with. It was out of your love over the centuries that you have challenged and corrected men to walk in love instead of hate and anger. It was out of love that you gave the word of your law to Moses for men to obey because it would allow men to live in peace and prosper together without the danger of falling into acts that would destroy love or violate the love of their God. You have commanded that men display their love for one another in dealing fairly and justly with one another in a manner that yields fertile soil in the hearts of men so that love can grow. What if all the men in Christ truly united as one body in the holy name of their Father? We know from studying Christ's life of many of the things that He did and the many things He faced in order to fulfill the Father's purpose for His life among us. By examining His life, we may come to ask ourselves many questions that are provoking and potentially life changing. For example; When Christ accepted His mission in His life on this earth to work out the Father's purpose in it, He knew what He faced. A spiritual mentor challenged me to answer the question:Who is God? The answer is as vast as our God is. I don't believe that any man can know the full extent of who God is because we are finite and limited, but our God is infinite. I truly believe that the only way that any man can know the full extent of who He is would be by His divine revelation and I'm not sure that we could handle it as we are in our limited capacity. My mentor stated well that it could take me a month to explain and as I considered the question, I began to wonder in what context he asked the question. Was the answer to be an explanation of who God is to me? Or was it intended that I should demonstrate that I could explain scripturally to someone who didn't know who He is? A much loved spiritual mentor pointed out to me the difference between the Apostle Paul's past will (a life without Christ) and His new will that evolved after the Lord called Him. He then challenged me to define what my own new will would say. I knew the story of Paul's life, but as I recounted it again, it confirmed an issue that our Lord had been speaking to my heart for some time. Saul, living out a life deceived, sought to persecute Christs' followers by any means that he could find. But when he became Paul, as He was called by God, the scales were removed not only from the eyes of his flesh, but also from his spiritual eyes and he gained a new perspective - Gods' perspective. Seeing only with eyes born of this world, Saul's vantage point left him seeing only what the world was able to see.
