Holy Warriors We Are!!!

Of what value is it that we who are covered with the armor of our God and armed with the holy weapons of spiritual warfare stand still while the battle of the ages wages around us? If we become comfortable in the security of our own safety while the enemy of our Heavenly Father claims countless victories in the world around us, who will fight the fight as our master watches?

We who are spiritually aware are watching the darkness of sin envelop the world we live in. Who is called to be the light in the world? Where are they that stand as warriors and beacons of God's holy light to roll back the encroaching darkness and vanquish the enemy's growing hoards? If it's not you and I, then who is it that He calls His own and why has He armed us for the battle?

Our fight is not physical and it's not fought with physical things. Our position of strength is not standing with our chest out and sword raised in defiance. This is the world's posture. Our greatest position of strength is on our knees with our heads bowed in reverence to our omnipotent King seeking to fight for the will of our God to be done in the earth and for the souls of our brothers to be saved. Our might is in the example we live in obedience to His Word, and in exercising our choice to fight for the desires of His heart. Our prayers to our God King for His will to be done and for the soul of another are the death knell we deliver to the assassin soldiers of the enemy.

If all of the children of light, the warriors of God are in position, why does the darkness continue to grow in the society we live in? Why do the strongholds of the enemy stand and even gain strength against the all powerful might of our God? Where are His armies? Are we, the ones He has called to fight content to allow our omnipotent King to be called weak because we failed to allow His power to be revealed through us in the world? Are we called to simply be observers? Does the word of our Lord make room for conscientious objectors or noncombatants in the single most important battle of all time for the souls of our God's creation?

The will of our God is worked through us, His children, as we allow ourselves to become conduits of His Holy Spirit. This is the moment, this is the time for all of God's faithful to lend their prayerful voice to the struggle. We are the hands and feet of our God in the earth. In our obedience to Him, we become the mighty soldiers of His army. We are the body of Christ, the most awesome power in all that exists because of His power in us. Together, we are His body, but the body is not whole without all of the parts moving together to accomplish His will. Every toe, every finger is critically important and necessary to perfect His will. It's a time for each of us to search ourselves and ask Him if we are doing our part in His effort and a time to check our own battle posture. We can never allow it be said that our God is weak because we, His body, did not move according to His will. We know that He is the all powerful and all mighty God of the universe, but we are the body through which He works His will. So if there could be any weakness in the army of God, we know that it could never be in Him, only in us, the body if we fail to take our position in the battle. Brothers and sisters, be certain to engage in the fight for the will and the glory of our God to be seen in the world. By His might and His power through us, we can take back the battle field and roll back the encroaching darkness. Never discount the importance of your own prayers to the strength of the body. They are necessary to eliminate the weakness created by their lack in the face of our enemy. Our God is already victorious, but our brothers and sisters fall on the battlefield around us and the world slides further into darkness if we fail Him. Shine warriors of the almighty! Displace the darkness around you where you kneel in prayerful obedience! Grow the light of our God's presence in the world by sharing His holy fire with the unlit candles around you. Engage evermore deeply to fight for His glory! He's called you and I to be His champions, so let us be called good and faithful servants for our Master's cause! Be bold in the power and spirit of our Christ King in the face of our God's less powerful enemy! If the souls of our God's loving creation are lost, let it not be because of our failure, but by their informed choice. Don't be a bystander, fight back! His power is yours!

The Real Power To Affect Change

I know that my position here may not be popular on it's face at first, but I think it could be most revealing of where some hearts are - even my own, by the response that it evokes... I think it's possible that we're all partly responsible for the chaos and darkness that is constantly swirling around in the digital tornado that is the constantly hammering news these days. While we may not have contributed to it directly by our own actions, it's a good bet that we may have contributed to it by our own inaction. Where does the true power to change things come from? And who is our best example to follow in this life? Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed." Mark 1:35 (NKJ) "Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God." Luke 6:12 (NKJ) "Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought ...

Judging, Judgment And Judge...

"I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. I will not judge those who hear me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken. I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it. And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say.” John 12:46-50 (NLT) A lot is said these days about "judging", but in the midst of that popular societal buzz and the assertive comments that come with that conversation, I have a question: If God has called something sin and we simply agree with what He's said,... are we judging or just repeating and declaring the truth? When He walked the earth, Jesus spoke about judging and He pointed out the danger of our judging...  “Do not judge other...

An Observance And Observing True Reality...

As Easter approaches, I begin once again considering how our God sees our observance of an occasion as I always do and also what He might truly desire of us in observance above any of our trivial, man inspired traditions . What I come away with in firm conviction is the understanding that the most trivial of my sins, the least of my crimes against God, had the power to forever damn me in His judgment of me and send me into unending torment. And that knowing this one thing in truth and as reality, is key to my correct posture before God in honor of His purpose in the event. That key being the horror of knowing that the price of my very least sin was the shedding of my Christ Jesus' blood and His horrible suffering, because the reality of this brings the deep rending of my heart in awe and gratitude and it makes possible my true joy at the relief of my sentence because of what He has done. I believe this is a part of what God would desire from us in observance of Christ's death a...
