Grant Us Eternal Vision

Lord, a lack of peace comes from either not knowing or not completely accepting your word as truth and beginning to live according to the spirit of it. Your word is our security and is as unchanging and unshakeable as you are. By your word, the only things that truly matter are eternal and are not affected by the decay and erosion of this world. All that is eternal is in your hand and by faith, it becomes our certain future. This moment of life in an alien world is but a fleeting wisp in the expanse of all that lays before us by your design.

We were not created for this world, but to permanently reside with you in heavenly places beyond this first stop. Your plans for us merely begin here in this place of training and trial. You're sorting the seed which bears the resemblance to the heart that gave birth to it from the seed that would bear the fruit of this world. Only the seed of your pure and sinless heart can be planted in your eternal garden. The rest, diseased by sin, must perish by their own choice. For you have given us the choice of what fruit we would bear. Give us now revelation and vision of the reality of your eternal plans so that we're not tempted to think or to live compromised by the terminal mindset of a world whose fate is already spoken because of the affliction brought by the disease of sin . Bolster our determination to see beyond the limitations of flesh to accept the glory you predestined us for from the creation of man. Your desire to have family around you bearing hearts you could commune with because of their likeness to your own has given us existence. Let us not betray your tender heart's desire, but give us true revelation of it and the strength to cling to your plan in spite of the weakness of the flesh we carry now. Give us eternal vision Lord God. Give us your perspective to see beyond the limits of this physical world that grows in sin and deception in an attempt to deprive your heart of it's goal.

In the face of all that is designed in this world to cloud our perception, give us clarity and conviction to become pure after your own heart bearing only the choicest fruit of your heart's desire. Give us eternal vision that brings the strong will to truly become clean and whole by the measure of your word - to bear only the nature of the heart that created us. Then Lord, in your abundant grace and mercy toward us, help us to achieve that goal. It's only by your hand Lord, that we may be successful because of our weakness. But even in our weakness, as we surrender our desires and visions to your own, you become our strength over all obstacles so that we may become safe in your plan. Convict us Lord to allow ourselves to be measured only by your standards, regardless of what the world may be willing to accept or even encourage. Because our success in your plan is not determined in any way by the standard of the world, but by you alone. You alone are the great God over all that is, and you alone will be the judge of the fruit that we bear. The right to be called your children and the seed of your heart, can only be given by you.

Lord, help us to overcome all that is set against us to share the vision of your heart's desire and to live according to your fondest goal and plan - the one you saw in the moment when you created us...

Amen

This "Christ"mas...

"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,  Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." Luke 2:8-14 (NKJ) As "Christ"mas approaches it usually finds me refreshing my knowledge and understanding of what I believe that it is that we as "Christ"ians should be celebrating in our observation of the event of Christ's birth. I do this in ...

An Observance And Observing True Reality...

As Easter approaches, I begin once again considering how our God sees our observance of an occasion as I always do and also what He might truly desire of us in observance above any of our trivial, man inspired traditions . What I come away with in firm conviction is the understanding that the most trivial of my sins, the least of my crimes against God, had the power to forever damn me in His judgment of me and send me into unending torment. And that knowing this one thing in truth and as reality, is key to my correct posture before God in honor of His purpose in the event. That key being the horror of knowing that the price of my very least sin was the shedding of my Christ Jesus' blood and His horrible suffering, because the reality of this brings the deep rending of my heart in awe and gratitude and it makes possible my true joy at the relief of my sentence because of what He has done. I believe this is a part of what God would desire from us in observance of Christ's death a...

The Real Power To Affect Change

I know that my position here may not be popular on it's face at first, but I think it could be most revealing of where some hearts are - even my own, by the response that it evokes... I think it's possible that we're all partly responsible for the chaos and darkness that is constantly swirling around in the digital tornado that is the constantly hammering news these days. While we may not have contributed to it directly by our own actions, it's a good bet that we may have contributed to it by our own inaction. Where does the true power to change things come from? And who is our best example to follow in this life? Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed." Mark 1:35 (NKJ) "Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God." Luke 6:12 (NKJ) "Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought ...
