Part 5: In His Perspective, Exercise the Truth- Give It Up!

Before we come to worship Him, whether in the quiet solitude of our prayer closet, or in the gathering of fellowship... we must take time to remember who He is before we begin. We must remind ourselves who it is that we are coming to honor and respond to that truth ...

If we have our God's perspective, we do not walk through this life "practicing" the rituals of some "religion". These are the world's terms, used in disgust to defame our faith in our God. Both are hollow and devoid of true wisdom and knowledge. The world's "intellect" deprives it of the revelation of the truth. It has become an obstacle, a veil that prevents it's understanding of their life's purpose. Pity their blindness enough to have compassion to pray for their healing, but never allow their words to be true of you. If we have truly known our God, then we are compelled by the reality of who He is to walk in the love motivated discipline of the truth. Our God is not some figment of our imagination, nor is He some remote entity that we perform ceremony for to appease. "Practicing religion", and "performing ceremony" bring His disgust, they create a stench that repulses Him. So let our life, our worship and our honor of Him be with our whole heart in spirit and in truth, because anything less... is "practicing religion".

As we live, we must remind ourselves that He is ever present and live that reality without hesitation. If another stands before us close enough to touch, He is closer. When we speak, speak as though He's listening because we know He hears us. When we worship, let it come from deep within, shamelessly proclaiming His virtue and with a true and sincere heart of gratitude and humility because we know that anything less, will offend Him. We are reminded by scripture, that if we deny Him, before men, He will deny us before the Father. So we cannot allow the foul and deceitful spirit of shame to prevent us from proclaiming the truth before the world. If we allow our worship to be limited by embarrassment or shame even before the body of Christ, then how can we possibly proclaim it to the world? If living out the truth causes us embarrassment, shame or reluctance, then we have reason to consider what binding spirit or limiting understanding holds us from providing the proof of our faith to our God. Our words may speak of our intentions, but our actions give proof to the world and more importantly, to Him of our conviction - what we in fact, hold to be true. Our words without proof by our action, run the risk of being percieved, if not actually becoming ... as falsehoods.

So as we enter the moment to worship, we must remind ourselves of who He is and all He has done and continues to do. We do this to enable ourselves to enthrone Him properly in our hearts and minds to enable true and spirit filled worship. Anything less, may provide the danger to lack the sweet fragrance to Him of true worship and instead become the foul stench of dutiful practice of religion. Give Him His due. Give Him the true offering from the deepest recesses of your heart. Give it with all of your heart, all of your mind and all of your body... give it up! ... and brace yourself for His response..

This "Christ"mas...

"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,  Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." Luke 2:8-14 (NKJ) As "Christ"mas approaches it usually finds me refreshing my knowledge and understanding of what I believe that it is that we as "Christ"ians should be celebrating in our observation of the event of Christ's birth. I do this in ...

If I Worry At All...

For the last year I've been engaged in a writing project that requires me to answer a series of questions posed over the fifty two weeks of the year. My answer to the last question that I chose to answer is one that I decided to share because it's always on my heart and mind... What do you worry about? I know that worrying itself changes nothing but there are some things that cause me deep worry. And of those particular things, there are none that I have the power to change on my own, but they are instead those that I have to appeal to Christ’s mercy to intercede. I have deep worry for the souls of all of my loved ones because I know that despite all that we might find concern for in our passing through of this world, there’s only one account that will, for all time, require an answer from all of us. That response, having already been made while we journeyed here, will leave us without further opportunity to answer. Our choice, made in this current life, will leave us either pr...

An Observance And Observing True Reality...

As Easter approaches, I begin once again considering how our God sees our observance of an occasion as I always do and also what He might truly desire of us in observance above any of our trivial, man inspired traditions . What I come away with in firm conviction is the understanding that the most trivial of my sins, the least of my crimes against God, had the power to forever damn me in His judgment of me and send me into unending torment. And that knowing this one thing in truth and as reality, is key to my correct posture before God in honor of His purpose in the event. That key being the horror of knowing that the price of my very least sin was the shedding of my Christ Jesus' blood and His horrible suffering, because the reality of this brings the deep rending of my heart in awe and gratitude and it makes possible my true joy at the relief of my sentence because of what He has done. I believe this is a part of what God would desire from us in observance of Christ's death a...
