Lord, you have given us eyes, but we are blinded by our flesh and the mirage of this world that the enemy creates to deceive us. Even those of us who endeavor to follow Christ are limited by the visions of life that we allow to be created around us. Those things that appeal to our flesh are the things we see most clearly and in this knowledge the enemy seeks to create an illusion of truth to keep us from seeing how far we really are from you. Your clear truth and wisdom would give us life in abundance, but the enemy seeks our destruction in order to grieve your heart. He would attempt by delusion to convince us that our efforts to draw near to you are good enough. That simply meeting the minimal requirements for salvation are all that you desire. That we need not recognize the reality that having a living relationship with us is your goal and purpose for our creation.
Lord, remove the veil from the eyes of our minds and hearts to see clearly your purpose and your desire. Lead us Lord, to the successful accomplishment of your heart's goal. Give us light in the darkness around us to expose the work of deception and confusion so that we may walk in the truth and spirit of our God. Do not let us founder and wallow in contentment with our salvation only. But convict us to move beyond the gate, to walk the path of fellowship and relationship with our Creator.
Expose to our eyes the occupations of our time and resources that rob you of your desire and your due. Reveal the snares in our lives that engulf our minds and our time that belong in communion with you. Free us Lord, from these things that we may fully devote ourselves to the purpose of your heart for our creation. Grant us the humility to accept the simplicity of your purpose and the awe of your divine offering. Give us revelation that frees our hearts and minds from slavery to this world's view. Revelation that allows us to walk with you in the lushness of the garden of your desire in deep communion with your heart. Convict our spirits to become surrendered to you and enjoined with your own to complete your holy purpose. Give us the vision of your holy perspective and the grace to live faithfully according to your view. Great God Over All That Is, by your mercy to us, give us eyes to see.
Amen
