What Will I Say
What will I say when it's all over
and the battle of this life is won
When I stand in the awe of His presence
and the passing of judgment is done
When all that remains is righteous, and the
sins of man no longer are found
What words from my lips will be heard,
to the God of my heart, what sound
When the proof of His promises made
gives life to the truth of His plan
What words will I use to express, my
thanks for His love of this man
When I see the deep scars, the reminder, of
the price my dear Savior paid
Just to give me all that He promised,
in spite of the errors I made
When I see the stripes for my sin, that
He took with each terrible blow
Will my heart be able to truly express
all that I see and now know
Will He understand my choked silence,
my heart bursting, as my tears fall
Will He know my heart toward Him
when I'm so overcome by it all
Will heaven have words to thank Him
for lessons that then seemed so hard
As I stand clothed in honor, receiving
my unearned eternal reward
