Habben Ah

I didn't intend to post this, but two words came to me simultaneously as I finished writing it. I've never heard or read the first, or known them in any way together, so I looked them both up. After doing so, I understood that there was something worthy here. I sometimes write just to organize my thoughts - to build an expression or offering from my heart to the Lord without posting them. The definitions of those two words are in the closing...

I've discovered a love that far exceeds the emission of humanity and I dwell in the soothing waters of its source. To succumb to the draw of any other would be the tragedy of settling for poverty, for I dwell in the intended Living Water that brings new life continually.

Lord, You draw the people to yourself by the essence of Your perfect character and person. It's by Your hand that they are rescued and by the price of Your own suffering that they are brought to redemption. No one is as selfless or as generous as You. You redeem and renew the unworthy.

You contend with the hearts of those You have called and it's by the conviction of your Holy Spirit that the truth is brought to bear on the object of Your desire. You confronted me and my soul awakened to the truth when I responded in sincerity and earnest.

My name is now also called Israel, for I have contended with You and with my own soul and won adoption - being grafted into Your own household and people by Your planned design. My love now responds to Yours and my life is made complete in Your presence.

My loyalty lies willingly surrendered at your feet and my heart is forever Yours to claim. I am what You call me. I will be what You will me to be. I have what You say that I have and all other thoughts perish in the face of Your truth. You are my Lord, my God and my friend. I seek to serve no other master.

How I got here is not by my design, but by Yours when You formed me and breathed life into my eternal spirit. You gave me life. I give it back as a willing captive of Your love and endlessly amazing character. Who I declare that I am now is simply and gratefully Yours.

Lord, I desire that all that You call would awaken to find the Author Of Love in their midst and rise to contend with their Creator. To be allowed to place hold on The God Of Heaven and be caught in His grip is for the repentant heart to find completion in submission to the truth and your preordained plan.

Lord, I desire that none should perish that might know You fully, that none should be lost who would be willing to bring You pleasure by submitting to Your rescue and find themselves made forever complete in your presence. This is my loving desire for Your own heart Lord, that the reward for all that You've done and all that You are would be so great and bless You profoundly, eternally.

Where Truth Is Found...

"He that cannot forgive others, breaks the bridge over which he himself must pass if he would ever reach heaven; for everyone has need to be forgiven." - George Herbert, British Poet 1593 - 1633 The above is a true statement and one could give credit to George Herbert for his wisdom in that saying, but the truth and wisdom found in those words did not originate with him. They originated with The Author of truth and wisdom - The Judge of the universe... “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6:14-15 (NKJ) ...Christ Jesus. With deception being a tool of the enemy   and being spread  widely with the help of mankind these days, it's a struggle for some to recognize what the truth really is. It's good for us who follow Christ to remember that whatever we might think or reason with ourselves to be true, our opinion c...

Fear not.

There's a lot going on in the world and a lot available to provoke fear for the future, but I have a question for anyone who might feel themselves tempted to fear - If you truly know God, does He ever change? “I am the LORD, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed." Malachi 3:6 (NLT) We stand reinforced in our understanding and belief that He does not change, so... "The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me.  I will protect those who trust in my name.  When they call on me, I will answer;  I will be with them in trouble.  I will rescue and honor them.  I will reward them with a long life  and give them my salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16 (NLT) I know that I said that I had "a" question, but I actually have another - do you really, truly love Him? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heave...

God Blesses Those...

"And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:... " Matthew 5:1&2 (NKJ) In the 5th chapter of the book of Matthew, we find Jesus teaching His disciples. What He taught them there is often referred to as the Sermon on the mount. And within that teaching are a number statements that are commonly referred to as The Beatitudes. I humbly suggest that whoever it was that coined that term might have been more accurate and to the point if they had called them  The " BE-  Attitudes" since Jesus was in fact telling His disciples both then and now, about the spirit of how to "be". “Blessed are the poor in spirit,  For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn,  For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek,  For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,  For they shall be filled. Blessed a...
