"We put our hope in the LORD. He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us, LORD, for our hope is in you alone." Psalm 33:20-22 (NLT)
If you're truly God's child, take a moment to ponder my questions...
With all that's happening in the world to put our peace to the test, to shake our confidence and to attempt to inject worry toward our hidden concerns, isn't it good to know that above and through it all, we have a shelter for our protection and an access to an endless source of provision?
Is there anything more calming to the soul, more strengthening to the spirit, or over-all refreshing than for us to find ourselves wrapped in the surrounding presence of our God's Holy Spirit? Is anyone a more worthy defense and protection for us - an undefeatable and conquering champion, than the God who reigns omnipotent and supreme over everything that exists?
In all of our lives and even before we were formed in our mother's womb, who knows us best? And who from even before our beginning - even while knowing the faults we would bear and commit, has loved and still loves us passionately? Who has proven this love to be true by sacrificing Himself to save us eternally? Who,.. knowing ALL of our sins beforehand, thought us worthy to die for?...
...There's truly only one answer... and it's in Him that we find the answer to everything else.
"The LORD is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way. The LORD leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands. For the honor of your name, O LORD, forgive my many, many sins. Who are those who fear the LORD? He will show them the path they should choose. They will live in prosperity, and their children will inherit the land. The LORD is a friend to those who fear him. He teaches them his covenant. My eyes are always on the LORD, for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies. Psalm 25:8-15 (NLT)
"Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence." Ephesians 3:12 (NLT)
We have the answer, but still, and even knowing that, sometimes a "pause" to remember it is good for the soul. Walk humbly in peaceful confidence - our Champion leads the way.
"No, O people, the LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8
