Fear And Faith

In a moment of terror, my earthly fear produces no good thing. In the physical aspect of my life, it might overwhelm my good judgment, my ability to devise an approach to a successful resolution to it's cause and brings destructing harm to my body.

In the spiritual aspect of my life, fear may reveal a hidden distrust of my Father - my divine benefactor, teacher, loving provider and fierce, omnipotent protector.

There are moments in life, that my mind may come to question if left to wander. But if I belong as a child to the God who reigns over universes and every thing in them - the Ultimate Father, who's professed His boundless love for me, then my only recourse is to force my mind to cling to the truth of His promises and trust all that I am to His care with submission and resolve.

There are those who use their free will to do evil in this world with the freedom we are given. There are those who use their freedom to make life and health choices that bring about their own physical demise and there are some who choose to use their free will intentionally to cause hardship to others. Sometimes, we use our own freedom to make choices that bring harm to our own lives. God is not responsible for these. He laments over the choices that some men make with the gifts that He gives them and for the evil that man himself brought into the world by bringing corrosive sin into the realm of creation. But for His children, faithful to trust Him and wait in patience, He faithfully profits them in the midst of their tribulation.

What we may see with our eyes and what our minds may struggle to process, do not limit the power of our Father to overcome on our behalf. He does not lie and He is not unfaithful to His love for us, but His economy of eternal value overrides our temporary physical reality. What this means is that He sees beyond our temporary circumstance to the reality of our eternal existence and deals with us on that basis. He deals with us in ways that our limited understanding and wisdom may not be able to comprehend. So what we are left with and what He watches for ... is our faith in Him - a child's trust in its doting Father. This is not weakness, but the pinnacle of our strength. Through our faith in Him, our weakness is overcome by our connection to our all powerful Father, whose love for us goes beyond what anyone can measure...

The Apostle Paul:

"When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think." Ephesians 3:14-20 (NLT)

We have an instruction manual for this life given by the One who omnipotently set life's parameters and made the rules. Its wisdom goes beyond any advice given by any man to prove profitably fruitful in any situation in life. The only question that might remain... is whether or not we employ our free will to faithfully use it...

"No, O people, the LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8 (NLT)

Where Truth Is Found...

"He that cannot forgive others, breaks the bridge over which he himself must pass if he would ever reach heaven; for everyone has need to be forgiven." - George Herbert, British Poet 1593 - 1633 The above is a true statement and one could give credit to George Herbert for his wisdom in that saying, but the truth and wisdom found in those words did not originate with him. They originated with The Author of truth and wisdom - The Judge of the universe... “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6:14-15 (NKJ) ...Christ Jesus. With deception being a tool of the enemy   and being spread  widely with the help of mankind these days, it's a struggle for some to recognize what the truth really is. It's good for us who follow Christ to remember that whatever we might think or reason with ourselves to be true, our opinion c...

Fear not.

There's a lot going on in the world and a lot available to provoke fear for the future, but I have a question for anyone who might feel themselves tempted to fear - If you truly know God, does He ever change? “I am the LORD, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed." Malachi 3:6 (NLT) We stand reinforced in our understanding and belief that He does not change, so... "The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me.  I will protect those who trust in my name.  When they call on me, I will answer;  I will be with them in trouble.  I will rescue and honor them.  I will reward them with a long life  and give them my salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16 (NLT) I know that I said that I had "a" question, but I actually have another - do you really, truly love Him? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heave...

God Blesses Those...

"And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:... " Matthew 5:1&2 (NKJ) In the 5th chapter of the book of Matthew, we find Jesus teaching His disciples. What He taught them there is often referred to as the Sermon on the mount. And within that teaching are a number statements that are commonly referred to as The Beatitudes. I humbly suggest that whoever it was that coined that term might have been more accurate and to the point if they had called them  The " BE-  Attitudes" since Jesus was in fact telling His disciples both then and now, about the spirit of how to "be". “Blessed are the poor in spirit,  For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn,  For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek,  For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,  For they shall be filled. Blessed a...
