He Did It All For A Reason!

In the early hours just before the sun rises, the glory of the night sky in all of its majestic splendor of lights prepares to fade into a glowing dawn, revealing once again the wonder and breath taking creativity of the God who took a world completely void of life and detail and clothed it with such amazing beauty and life.

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters." Genesis 1:1-2 (NLT)

Who could have imagined what He alone has done? Who could have seen in his own mind's eye with the wisdom and power to create from nothing, the array of such awe inspiring and seemingly unending masterpieces - one after another, from a once blank and now living and continually changing canvas? And for what reason has He done it? What heart consuming motivation brought Him to such a monumental and unparalleled work?

"Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Genesis 1:26-27 (NLT)

The Lord God in His holiness lacks nothing, but could it be that His desire and source of inspiration was for the opportunity of relationship with beings able to relate to Him - perhaps beings able to relate to Him because they were created in His own image? Could it be that all of His astounding and amazement-inspiring work, overflowing with wonder, ... was a preparatory act and gift... of love? Could it have been a work designed in part to please and to court a potential lover of His own heart that He would bring to light there for a moment - giving it all over to the authority of His desired lover to reign over it while preparing a place for her in His own house? Is it possible that this was all part of His own love driven plan unfolding to bring to His own breast, a desired and desiring lover of His own heart - a plan that came at a great cost to Himself that made available a free access to Himself and to clothe her in righteousness, forgiving - to forever overlook, any faults in her past, if she willingly made Him her choice?

The Apostle Paul:
"Though I am the least deserving of all God’s people, he graciously gave me the privilege of telling the Gentiles about the endless treasures available to them in Christ. I was chosen to explain to everyone this mysterious plan that God, the Creator of all things, had kept secret from the beginning.

God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence." Ephesians 3:8-12 (NLT)

In all that surrounds us, the purpose for our cause to even exist might be lost in the confusion of this momentary life here if we allow it to overtake our minds and our hearts. But the absolute clear truth is that we exist for the purpose of relationship with the all-holy and righteous God who purposed to create us for Himself - and no other purpose. We have the choice to deny Him and make ourselves of no worth to Him, but also by our active and willing choice to choose Him with a full heart - captured by the beauty of His own character, and become His own dear beloved, forever embraced in the now unimaginable glory of His holiness and the splendor of His love forever.

This purpose is the true cause we were born for and the reason that we were chosen to exist. In the pages of history foreknown to Him, we were given a place in time that would test our resolve to come to Him - to make that monumental choice of a lifetime. We can only know Him by coming to Him in sincerity and with an honest heart - He knows the difference. Once truly knowing Him in the wonder and absolute splendor of all that He is leaves no other reasonable choice, but the time that He allows to make that choice draws shorter by the passing of every moment for every one that He's gracefully given opportunity to...

"When the master of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Lord, open the door for us!’ But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ Then you will say, ‘But we ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’ And he will reply, ‘I tell you, I don’t know you or where you come from. Get away from me, all you who do evil.’" Luke 13:25-27 (NLT)

In my heart I say with resounding confidence and conviction that indeed - He did, He is, He was and always will be - true in His intent and to His word! We can choose to make our lives void and worthless- consumed with this life alone, or we can choose to respond with an honest heart and enter into an active one-on-one relationship and walk together with Him toward the house He's prepared for us, full of the joy that consumes a true lover's heart.

The door to His heart's open... enter in.

"No, O people, the LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8 (NLT)

Where Truth Is Found...

"He that cannot forgive others, breaks the bridge over which he himself must pass if he would ever reach heaven; for everyone has need to be forgiven." - George Herbert, British Poet 1593 - 1633 The above is a true statement and one could give credit to George Herbert for his wisdom in that saying, but the truth and wisdom found in those words did not originate with him. They originated with The Author of truth and wisdom - The Judge of the universe... “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6:14-15 (NKJ) ...Christ Jesus. With deception being a tool of the enemy   and being spread  widely with the help of mankind these days, it's a struggle for some to recognize what the truth really is. It's good for us who follow Christ to remember that whatever we might think or reason with ourselves to be true, our opinion c...

Fear not.

There's a lot going on in the world and a lot available to provoke fear for the future, but I have a question for anyone who might feel themselves tempted to fear - If you truly know God, does He ever change? “I am the LORD, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed." Malachi 3:6 (NLT) We stand reinforced in our understanding and belief that He does not change, so... "The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me.  I will protect those who trust in my name.  When they call on me, I will answer;  I will be with them in trouble.  I will rescue and honor them.  I will reward them with a long life  and give them my salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16 (NLT) I know that I said that I had "a" question, but I actually have another - do you really, truly love Him? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heave...

God Blesses Those...

"And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:... " Matthew 5:1&2 (NKJ) In the 5th chapter of the book of Matthew, we find Jesus teaching His disciples. What He taught them there is often referred to as the Sermon on the mount. And within that teaching are a number statements that are commonly referred to as The Beatitudes. I humbly suggest that whoever it was that coined that term might have been more accurate and to the point if they had called them  The " BE-  Attitudes" since Jesus was in fact telling His disciples both then and now, about the spirit of how to "be". “Blessed are the poor in spirit,  For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn,  For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek,  For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,  For they shall be filled. Blessed a...
