How Will We Worship You?

Lord, how will we worship you in the short time you have given? Each passing moment represents a lost opportunity to give you thanks for the gift of it. Will we continue to be silent as they continue to pass us by? Or will we acknowledge our error and begin to sing your praises in earnest? Will we acknowledge the wealth of your works and generosity to us giving thanks for them all? Or by our continued lack of excitement for your gifts or even by silence shout our ingratitude?

Will the worship we offer you be worthy of the God of the universe? Or will our excitement for our Father God be less than the praise we give to the mere dust of mortal men? Will our praise in worship and exaltation be worthy of the only one who is God? Or by our restrained worship or even our silence show our lack of regard for all that you have done? We can never repay what you've already given. But do our hearts offer true gratitude or only further request of your favor?

Will the praise and worship we offer you be as fresh and new as the mercy you make available to us every day? Or will our offering be only the rewarmed left overs of a few well learned lines and rehearsed small gestures that leave you cold and speak of our real lack of gratitude? Will our obedience to the desires of your heart be our signature on the manifest of our life’s' worship? Or instead, will it be our service to our fear of crucifying the flesh that you have already predestined to die?

Who can cheat the awesome and omnipotent God of the universe out of His just due and still have expectation to live forever? Who can expect to accept the fruit of your great works in creation and the promises of your Word without giving to you the small things that you ask? It's nothing more than foolish shame to any who try. For your requirements are clear and you are more than worthy of anything we can give for all that you have already done.

How just it is Lord in light of the truth, that when we gather together in your presence seeking to receive yet again, we may often walk away empty. But that when we come to give from the fullness of our hearts for you Lord in righteous praise and worship, our cup overflows. How right it is that the God who has given us everything be given the humble offering of our every moments' praise in thanks.

Give us renewed revelation of your great works and of the person of our God that we may fall on our faces in shameless worship in spirit and in truth. Have pity on us Lord to remind us, for our frail memories pale with the passing of time, but the glory and greatness of our God and His works stand eternally deserving of unbridled worship and praise. Renew in us the Holy fear that breaks any binding.

Lord, grant us the strength to find ourselves alone with you in the midst of ten thousand in our worship. Also to stand to reflect the worlds' loathing back upon itself as shame for its' failure to render unto your heart the same small pittance you demand in return for your favor. Grant us the wisdom to see all of the ways we may honor you and the shameless courage to give our whole heart in effort to them all.

I pray my Lord let our hearts be made faithful to you in spirit and in truth. For our spirits cry out for you in unquenchable longing, but in truth our flesh wages war against us. I pray Lord that our passion for you, our greatest beloved, be made strong by revelation of you're greatness to take dominion over our flesh in our worship of our God and that any fear of reproach by men be made to pale to extinction.

How I loath myself for my failures to your heart because I've restrained my own worship out of the fear of men. My heart thunders with the recognition of your glory and the overwhelming sound of my love for you. But my worship in it's expression does not match what my heart holds for you. Give me freedom from the evil fear of what other men may think to sing out my heartsong to you in worship. For there is no power that I must fear with eternal holy reverence but you. Let my heart give shameless voice to your glory with my whole being and bring an end to my self loathing.

Sovereign God, I pray that our hearts in worship will be true to the only heart we must have true fear of offending. All others were also created by your great hand and none matter by comparison save how they matter to you. Your gift of this life was in tender and loving hope of return by our own free offering and we must not deny you lest we die eternal. Our debt to you we can never repay, but give us freedom from whatever may bind us to make our offering be our whole being, in return for your great love.

Let our voices thunder in the image of our Father to sing His praise and let us be courageous in your image still, to give voice to the awesome greatness of your works. Give us brave hearts in the face of the world to stand in honor of your glory and a voice singing praise that cannot be silenced. Let our hearts in your honor be that of a lion ... and in your omnipotent presence, that of a lamb in humility.

Lord God and King, in the numbered days that remain in this moment, I pray give us what we lack that we may do justice to your greatness in our worship of you and avenge our own meager offering in the life of our past. Let our love for you become the flame that lights every candle you bring near us in this moment that remains to honor your great heart in this life.

Great God, grant us these things, and still, we will not have done justice to your greatness, grace and generosity. Great and awesome ruler over the stars, I pray still Lord, show us further undeserved grace yet and give us the ability to bear a heart after your own ... to honor and requite your immeasurable unfailing love ...

Where Truth Is Found...

"He that cannot forgive others, breaks the bridge over which he himself must pass if he would ever reach heaven; for everyone has need to be forgiven." - George Herbert, British Poet 1593 - 1633 The above is a true statement and one could give credit to George Herbert for his wisdom in that saying, but the truth and wisdom found in those words did not originate with him. They originated with The Author of truth and wisdom - The Judge of the universe... “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6:14-15 (NKJ) ...Christ Jesus. With deception being a tool of the enemy   and being spread  widely with the help of mankind these days, it's a struggle for some to recognize what the truth really is. It's good for us who follow Christ to remember that whatever we might think or reason with ourselves to be true, our opinion c...

Fear not.

There's a lot going on in the world and a lot available to provoke fear for the future, but I have a question for anyone who might feel themselves tempted to fear - If you truly know God, does He ever change? “I am the LORD, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed." Malachi 3:6 (NLT) We stand reinforced in our understanding and belief that He does not change, so... "The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me.  I will protect those who trust in my name.  When they call on me, I will answer;  I will be with them in trouble.  I will rescue and honor them.  I will reward them with a long life  and give them my salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16 (NLT) I know that I said that I had "a" question, but I actually have another - do you really, truly love Him? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heave...

God Blesses Those...

"And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:... " Matthew 5:1&2 (NKJ) In the 5th chapter of the book of Matthew, we find Jesus teaching His disciples. What He taught them there is often referred to as the Sermon on the mount. And within that teaching are a number statements that are commonly referred to as The Beatitudes. I humbly suggest that whoever it was that coined that term might have been more accurate and to the point if they had called them  The " BE-  Attitudes" since Jesus was in fact telling His disciples both then and now, about the spirit of how to "be". “Blessed are the poor in spirit,  For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn,  For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek,  For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,  For they shall be filled. Blessed a...
